New restaurant supports local farmers
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ-TV) -- From farm to table.
This week's Ag-All Star is Ely's Ivy -- a new restaurant serving up a menu grown by local farmers.
The eatery is located on 3rd Street, next to Kittsona lifestyle.
Locals and owners Rachel and Scott Franz opened the spot in late November, with hopes to partner with area farmers to bring homegrown food to the community.
The menu features beer from area brewers, and meats, cheeses, and vegetables from nearby farmers.
Owners say they want the menu to showcase the hard work of community members.
“We believe it's about creating community and partnerships as much as we can, and helping those next to us maintain their businesses as much as we promote our own as well,” says Rachel Franz, Ely’s Ivy Owner.
They hope to continue adding more area vendors to the list when the weather warms up.
