GRAND FORKS—Many people dream of one day playing professional football, and for dozens of athletes in Grand Forks, they got one step closer to that dream on Saturday.

The Tri-City Northstars, a semi-pro team located in Grand Forks held open tryouts Saturday for all those dreamers looking to make the team.

Participants competed in various pro-style football drills such as the 40-yard-dash, bench press, vertical jump, and cone drills.

The team is looking to fill at least 10 spots on its roster.

"I know for sure we are looking for some running backs, wide receivers, linemen for sure. Pretty much any position. If they are willing to show us what they got, we are willing to look at them," said Michelle Jalan, Owner of Tri-City Northstars.

Coaches will review combine stats and notes, and players will be selected late next week.
