GAS STATION ATTEMPTED ROBBERY SUSPECT CAUGHT

We have new information this morning in an attempted armed robbery at a Fargo gas station.

Around midnight, Fargo Police arrested 18-year-old John Holeton. He's facing charges of attempted robbery and posession of a stolen firearm. Nobody was injured from the attempted robbery, but the scary situation was deescalated thanks to one customer. Police said Holeton walked into the Tesoro on 32nd Avenue South near Essentia Health wearing a mask around 8:30 last night. He was stopped by a customer who managed to take the gun away. Police say Holeton ran off, but was arrested about three hours later. He's being held at the Cass County Jail.

Just after 8:30 Saturday night, police were called to a south Sabin neighborhood for reports of a suicidal man. Authorities say a Clay County deputy later fired his weapon at the man who was armed with a knife. The sheriff's office wouldn't say exactly what led up to these shots being fired. The man was taken to the hospital for his injures and then taken to the Clay County Jail. The Sheriff's office wouldn't say the extent of the man's injuries. The officers were not hurt and are now on administrative leave. Moorhead, Dilworth, and Glyndon police departments all responded, along with the Sheriff's Department.
